Since 2006, Richard C. Andrien, Esquire has been practicing law with significant experience in Labor and Employment, Land Use, Real Property disputes, and municipal law.  He is fully familiar with liability concerning New Jersey public entities such as municipalities and counties.  Contracts and Administrative Law are additional areas of the law in which Rick has significant experience.

Rick has litigated cases in New Jersey Superior Courts in Atlantic County, Cape May County, and in the Appellate Division of the New Jersey Superior Court.  His experience also includes litigating cases in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey in Camden.

Rick has litigated many employment discipline cases in the New Jersey Office of Administrative Law, and handled countless arbitrations and departmental hearings in labor and employment disputes.

In the summer of 2005, Rick clerked for a local attorney while in law school.  During his clerkship, he worked on real estate transactions and representing municipalities in Cape May County. He returned to the local law office when he graduated law school and passed the bar exam in 2006.  From 2006 to 2009 most of his work focused on cases involving municipalities; real estate transactions; land use applications; and civil litigation.

From 2009 to 2015, Rick was an Assistant County Counsel in the Atlantic County Law Department.  Labor and Employment, Contract Law and Administrative Law were the focus of his practice as Assistant County Counsel.

Education

Rick graduated from Rowan University in 2002 with honors.  He was first in his class with a degree in Economics, receiving the Dean’s Tea Award, and receiving the Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Award.  He attended Widener School of Law and graduated in 2006. While attending Widener Law School, Rick participated in a law clinic representing indigent clients, working under the guidance of experienced faculty.  He also clerked in an externship for the Honorable Scott Arthur Evans, presiding in the Dauphin County Court of Common Pleas in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Volunteer Work

Rick volunteers his time as a Trustee of the Atlantic County Bar Association, an Atlantic County Special Civil Division Volunteer Mediator, and he served as an attorney member of the New Jersey Supreme Court District 1 Fee Arbitration Committee.
